All About Me

My name is Ellen Begbie, and I am so thankful and excited to be your child's teacher this year at Franklin School.  I have been teaching for 27 years, and this year I am honored to teach the LLD class for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. 

A little about me personally:  I recently moved to an area surrounded by beautiful farms and stables which has been a wonderful change and a fun new part of my life.  I am married and blessed to have three beautiful children through adoption.  A 14-year old daughter, an 8-year old son, and a 7-year old daughter.  Adoption is a very special part of my family's story! This past year I was grateful to finish my Masters, which has given me knowledge and tools to support my students and help them reach their full potential!

I truly believe that every child can learn, grow, and succeed.  I also believe that strong communication between school and home is an important part of helping children thrive! I encourage families to keep the lines of communication open so that we can work together to support your child!

Most importantly, I believe that we can do hard things together.  My goal is to encourage your child to celebrate their strengths, help them work through challenges, and remind them that they are capable of more than they may sometimes believe.  

I look forward to getting to know each of your children and partnering with you throughout the school year.  I am so grateful to be part of their journey!
