Franklin School is a neighborhood school that serves grades 1st through 8th. We also have a special needs classes and two Bi-Lingual classes. We have a child - centered school and we provide a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment. Franklin School has a comprehensive curriculum and follows the NJSLS and 21st Century Standards. Subjects include English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Health, Physical Education, Art, Music (Vocal & Instrumental), Computer Literacy/STEM, and World Language. Qualified students, also receive service from our Title I, Resource, Communication, and English as a Second Language certified personel.
Our faculty is committed to excellence. They work diligently to make their students become successful. Our faculty attends workshops to enhance their educational growth and Professional Development Meetings. Faculty meetings are held twice a month.
Our students, at Franklin School, have been recognized for their achievements through many special honors and awards including participating in the National Scripps Spelling Bee, Civic Essay Contests, STEM, North Bergen Against Alcohol & Drugs Municipal Poster Contest, Principal Academic Awards, the V.F.W. Essay Contest, and many others.
Franklin School students participate in a variety of Co-Curricular programs and services such as Boys and Girls Basketball, Cheerleading, School Band, Jazz Band, Chorus, Ecology Club, Student Council, School Newspaper, Modeling Club, Yearbook Club, Ambassadors of Kindness Club, and Character Education.
The Franklin School Intervention & Referral Service Committee's primary mission is to enhance student achievement infused with high academic standards in a safe and disciplined learning environment.
Our students score well on all types of tests that are administrated by the district and the state. Our outstanding faculty members work diligently to help all children in Franklin School to succeed. The Franklin education plan is overseen by our ScIP/Data Team composed of administrators, faculty and community representatives. The school level plan involves staff with standardize tests, evaluates students achievement, encourages articulation between grades and keep parents informed of their child's progress.
We feel that Franklin School provides a comprehensive learning environment for its students and teachers within the school community.
