Biography

Mrs. Luongo grew up in North Bergen and graduated from NBHS in 1990.  Upon graduating from Iona College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1994, she began her teaching career at Franklin Elementary School in September of that year.  Realizing early on that many students struggled with reading and comprehension skills, she began taking classes to better serve the students in her school.  Mrs. Luongo earned a Master's Degree with honors from NJCU with a specialist certificate in Literacy Education in May 2004.  She is a member of the National Science Teachers of America, Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education, a member of the National Science Teachers of America, and a former cheer and gymnastics coach with nearly 35 years of experience. 
  Mrs. Luongo is excited about entering her 30th year of teaching middle school.  She looks forward to meeting the next group of scholars entering her classes.
